Hyderabad: The GHMC, which has taken up 2BHK Housing project for poor and needy people, was constructing them in 109 areas under GHMC limits, said GHMC Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy.
The Commissioner, along with Mayor B. Rammohan, was participating in one of the programs in Lucknow with regard to transforming Urban Land Scaping Workshop for two days there and discussed about double bed room housing scheme and gave a Power Point Presentation in this regard.
GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said the Telangana State Government was constructing two lakh double bed room houses, including one lakh houses under the GHMC limits at a cost of Rs 9,000 crore. The constructions were going on in 37 identified slums. The constructions have been taken up in an area of 5,60,00,000 sq.yards and thousands of youth got their livelihood , said the Mayor. The housing scheme at Ahmedguda, Rampally and other areas where 5,000 to 16,000 double bed room houses were being constructed with all basic facilities for the convenience of the poor and needy. The Mayor said these housing projects have been taken up in coordination with various departments and even the GHMC received Prime Minister’s Excellency Award for the Housing Scheme recently. (NSS)
