New Delhi, March 05: Twenty-nine plots have been allotted to various hoteliers to construct hotels in the city in the last three years, Lok Sabha was informed today.
Replying to a question, Minister of State for Urban Development Saugata Roy said the plots were allotted by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and the Land and Development office of his ministry.
“These hotel plots are located at Chanakyapuri, Wazirpur, Mayur Vihar, Rohini, Shalimar Bagh, Shahdara, Kondli, Vivek Vihar, Dwarka, Hari Nagar, Anand Vihar, Paschim Vihar, Shastri Park, Pitampura, Preet Vihar and Gharoli,” he said. In order to overcome the problem of shortage of hotel rooms during the upcoming Commonwealth Games, the hotel plots were auctioned to various hoteliers.
To a separate question, Roy said DDA has taken over physical possession of 629.84 acres of land for planned development of Delhi in the last three years.
