28 killed as serial blasts rock Lahore

Islamabad, September 02: : Three blasts rocked Lahore on Wednesday evening, killing 28 people and injuring 150.

The blasts, reports say, were aimed at a Shia procession comprising hundreds of people that gather in the walled city of Lahore during the holy month of Ramzaan.

The first blast took place around 6.50 pm, killing at least seven persons and injuring hundreds.

The second blast, which is reportedly a suicide attack, took place about 25 minutes later near the site of the first blast, killing at least three persons, including a policeman, and injuring some 20 others.
