27 Hindus converted to Christianity in Yogi Adityanath’s stronghold

As many as 27 Hindus belonging to five Hindu families in Gangua in Kushinagar reportedly converted to Christianity on Saturday, as reported in Mailtoday.

The ‘converted’ villagers in Kushinagar were reportedly in touch with some Christian missionaries from Bihar. And after the fact came to light, all the 27 Hindus left their village, media reports said.

Village headman Ajay Kharwar said: “Dilip used to live in Mumbai till last year. He was in touch with some missionaries. But it appears that he recently motivated four families and they all got converted to Christianity.”

The incident came to light on Sunday when 27 people from Gangua-Mathia village were found worshipping Jesus Christ in a house.

The area is Adityanath’s stronghold and on Sunday evening, after learning of the conversion, about a dozen of Adityanath supporters hurried to the village.

However, the ‘converted’ people got a tip-off and run off from the wrath of Adityanath’s followers.

A reported in Indiatvnews, a villager in Kushinagar said, Christian missionaries from Betiah and Narkatiyaganj in Bihar used to visit the house of villager Dilip Gupta for the last six months.

Prabhu Prajapati, Kishan Gupta, Malti Gupta and Ramawati Gupta along with their family members were seen offering prayers to Jesus Christ.

However, Kushinagar district magistrate Lokesh M. said: “They were converted to Christianity in Mumbai last year. It is not a new incident.”

The matter is under investigation by the local administration.
