26/11 type attacks likely on London: Report

London, July 13: Last year’s Mumbai attacks have given more ideas to the terrorists about wreaking havoc around the world. They now wish to replicate the 26/11 attack in other cities.

According to a report in a UK-based newspaper Daily Star, London could be the next target in the eyes of the terrorists.

The daily, quoting intelligence reports, says that tourist spots could be the main target.

According to the report, boats may once again be used to launch the attack. Explosive-laden boats can reach London via the Thames for the attacks. Tourist spots and the houses of Parliament may be the key targets of the terrorists.

After the intelligence warning, London river police have been on the alert. Patrol has been stepped up searching boats for weapons and suspicious packages.

Security has been tightened around London Eye and Canary wharf after the terror alert.

According to an intelligence official, Mumbai showed the way for the terrorists and the attacks can even be mounted from a boat.
