Hyderabad, April 04: More than half of the disabled employees of the Andhra Pradesh Vikalangula Cooperative Corporation (APVCC) will be asked to quit their jobs soon, informed Anitha Rajendhar, commissioner for Welfare of Disabled and Senior Citizens.
Meanwhile, the employees complained that they have not been getting any allowances for the last three years and their increments according to the Pay Revision Commission and drought allowances were also pending since 2009.
“The AP High Court has given orders to remove employees who joined illegally and to stop all allowances. So we are not giving them allowances and will be removing 250 such employees out of the total 420. These employees were not recruited by the government but had just joined with recommendations,” said Anitha Rajendhar.
But employees have their own woes to tell. “I have been working since 1980 and now my salary is `6,500. For the last three years, no increments and other allowances have come my way,” said G Bhumaiah, an employee of APVCC.
He added that he was recently informed that he would be asked to leave his job. “How can they remove me?” he questioned distraughtly.
“On January 4, we had informed the chief minister of our problems. He had assured us that he would sort out all our problems and that nobody would be removed,” said V Chandrasheksr, an employee adding that they are waiting for more clarification on the matter.
