25-year-old Hyderabadi youth arrested for making threat call to Akun Sabharwal

Hyderabad: Mr. Akun Sabharwal, Director, Enforcement, State Excise who is investigating Drug Mafia racket received a threatening call from a Hyderabadi youth in which he was warned to abandon the probe. In case of not obliging the threat call, he was warned that damage would be done to his family members. Mr. Sabharwal had made a complaint to the Chief of Intelligence Dept.

TDP MLA, Mr. Revanth Reddy criticized bitterly the Govt. and said that it failed to probe into this threat. Mr. Anurag Sharma, DGP told that investigations are in progress to trace out the caller. If need be the security of the family members of Mr. Sabharwal would be enhanced.

On investigation, it was known that this threat call was made from Ziaguda. A 25-year-old youth made use of two telephone numbers and threatened Mr. Akun Sabharwal. The man has been taken into police custody for investigation. The youth told that his mental condition is not normal. He also told the police that Mr. Sabharwal exposed some of the educational institutions in which an institution belonging to his relative is included. His children are studying in this school. By exposing the names of educational institutions, their credibility has been damaged.

During interrogation, whatever replies the youth gave are not satisfactory. Police are probing it further.
