The sessions court here today sentenced a 25-year-old man to life imprisonment for killing brother of the person his sister had eloped with. Dinesh Kunchikurve and his younger brother, who was a minor at the time, were arrested for stabbing Rakesh to death on November 2, 2011. The accused were Rakesh’s cousins. According to the prosecution, Rakesh’s younger brother Vijay had eloped with Kunchikurve’s sister, which had angered the family. Vijay was killed in a revenge act. The trial of Kunchikurve’s younger brother is pending before the juvenile court. PTI
