25 B category temples in Mysore would be developed to attract tourists; this was announced by minister K S Poojary, while speaking to presspersons following a review meeting with officials.
The government would release Rs. 1 crore each for the development of such temples, which has raised oppositions from few corners which argued that drawing tourists to pilgrimage centres would harm religious sentiments. The issue would be discussed at the Dharmika Parishat meeting scheduled in Bangalore on September 26.
