Atleast 25 people killed and 10 got injured in a car bomb blast which targeted two armored vehicles security sources said. Earlier six soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb blast triggered last Sunday at Southwest al-Arish.
Security forces facing a Sinai-based insurgency that has killed hundreds of soldiers and policemen since the army toppled President Mohammed Mursi after mass protests against his rule.
The attack appeared to be the first on Saudi property or personnel since Mursi’s ouster. Major General Tareq Butcher, director of security in the city, said authorities are working to identify the group behind it.
