Over 25 MLAs raise public issues in Assembly

Hyderabad: As many as 28 MLAs have different issues concerning their constituencies and people during Zero Hour in the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

Congress MLA Vamshi Chandra Reddy asked the State Government to provide an incentive of Rs. 4 per litre of milk to the dairy farmers of Kalwakurthy in Mahabubnagar district. He said farmers have been facing several problems due to extreme drought conditions. He said the farmers are unable to arrange fodder and water for the livestock. He said farmers in Kalwakurthy sell about 8 lakh litres of milk every day, including 1 lakh litres to Vijaya Dairy.

MIM MLA Ahmed Pasha Quadri asked the State Government to take stringent action against one TRS leader Gnaneshwar Goud of Parsigutta in city who allegedly posted objectionable and provocative content on his WhatsApp Group Jai Telangana.

CPI MLA R. Ravindra Kumar and CPI (M) legislator Sunnam Rajaiah asked the State Government to increase remunerations for ‘hammals’ working with Civil Supplies Department. They said the payment for ‘hammals’ has not been revised since 20 years. The hammals are presently staging dharna at Indira Park, they said.

TRS MLA G. Vittal Reddy demanded adequate compensation for the families of four MBBS students of Osmania Medical College who were killed in tragic bus accident in Vijayawada on Tuesday. He said one of the victims, Giri Lakshman, hailed from a very poor family.

Ibrahimpatnam MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy complained of rising pollution in Ibrahimpatnam Lake due to dumping of sewerage water and other debris. He said that the pollution was also posing a threat to the residents of surrounding areas.

Congress MLA D.K. Aruna demanded probe in alleged irregularities in Lift Irrigation projects works.

BJP MLA D. Raja Singh complained against frequent raids by the Excise Department in Dhoolpet area. He said that the people engaged in ‘Gudamba’ business were willing to get rehabilitated and therefore, asked the State Government to announce a financial package for them.

MIM MLA Ahmed Balala demanded 20 borewells and provision of water tankers in all Assembly constituencies in the city in view of summer season. He also demanded postponement of compulsory helmet rule till the end of summer. He said some people might not be able to wear helmet in view of high temperature.

TRS MLA Aamair Shakeel raised the issue of non-payment of salaries to the employees of Nizam Sugar Factory for the last five months.

Other MLAs too raised various issues about their constituencies.

Replying to these queries, Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav assured the members that he would forward the issues to concerned ministers. (INN)
