246 Cases booked on ORR

The Outer Ring Road (ORR) Patrolling Scheme was launched on January 18 this year. As a part of this plan, five patrolling vehicles have been pressed into service from Pedda Amberpet to Shamirpet through Shamshabad.
The Cyberabad Traffic Police stated that as a part of enforcement of the scheme from May 24 to May 30, a total of 246 cases were booked, of which 81 were of wrong parking, 165 for driving on wrong side/entry from wrong side/dangerous driving. The total fine amount collected was Rs 2,11,100. It appealed to the people to follow the rules made for Outer Ring Road (ORR) and call on 040 – 2300 2424 / 8500411111 (Cyberabad Traffic Police Control Room) in case of any emergency. The Traffic Week from May 24 to May 30 was launched to curb drunken driving and a total of 247 cases were booked. The cases were charge-sheeted in the Courts concerned. The fine amount collected was Rs.1,05,500 and no person was imprisoned. (NSS)
