All the 230 degree colleges in both the East and West Godavari districts would come under the purview of AdiKavi Nannaya University (AKNU), Rajahmundry, from this academic year itself. Disclosing this at a press conference at Rajahmundry today Prof George Victor, Vice-Chancellor of AKNU, said the University executive council at its meeting recently had approved the affiliation of these colleges. The state government had issued a GO paving the way for affiliation. A special meeting of the principals and managements of these degree colleges in both the districts has been convened on June 20 at Rajahmundry to discuss the modalities of the affiliation process.
The executive council also approved starting of new courses from next academic year and also for purchasing of new vehicles required for the university immediately. The distance education center also would be started soon, he added. On the infrastructural facilities, he claimed that the university was having the required facilities at Rajahmundry camp office to run the academic and administrative wings successfully. Further, he said, the civil works at the new campus at Velugubanda village near Rajanagaram were being expedited and formation of new roads, construction of ten sheds and three buildings was in various stages of progress.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor released a brochure on the infrastructural facilities in the university campus. Prof Bargava Ramamohanarao Registrar, Suresh Varma Principal and Prof S Teki Head, Management Department, attended the meeting. UNI
