UP: 23-year-old confined to basement, raped for two months

Muzaffarnagar: The nationwide furor over various assault cases reported from several parts of India demanding justice continues while assault cases are still reported consecutively.
A similar incident where a 23-year-old woman was allegedly confined to a basement for over two months and allegedly raped by her two relatives is reported.

According to SHO, D K Tyagi, the victim was confined in the house basement for two months in the civil lines area and was reportedly raped by her uncle and another man. While the police successfully nabbed one of the accused, the victim’s uncle is on the run. The victim said she somehow managed to escape the confinement on February 1st, PTI reports.

The recent assault incidents reported from various parts of India have given rise to nationwide outrage which is demanding justice for the victims. But so far neither the victims are granted justice nor the accused of the crime are brought to account in the reigning government.
