Nehru Zoological Park is one of the biggest zoos in Asia and it is one of the most visited destinations in Hyderabad. Even as the adults and children from the city and state throng to visit the Zoo due to summer vacations, a large number of foreign tourists are also visiting the park.
Media coordinator Mohammed Haneef told that thousands of visitors visit the zoo daily but on Sunday, May 12, more than 22631 visitors visited the zoo including 16821 adults and 5810 children. Nehru Zoological Park got the revenue of Rs 521520 from the tickets sold on a single day. Entry ticket for adults is Rs. 20 and Rs 10 for children from 3 to 12 years.
Situated on a sprawling 380 acres, the park, houses around 3000 animals, birds and reptiles. Families keen on visiting the Nehru Zoological Park in a car have to shell out Rs 750 per vehicle. As many as 158 cars entered the zoo on Sunday. The zoo also charges Rs 20 per hour for the cycles provided to the visitors. A children’s train is run to provide maximum entertainment to children with the ticket of Rs 5 for children and Rs. 15 for adults. The zoo also charges Rs 20 for each camera carried by visitors on the premises and Rs 100 for video camera.
