Chhattisgarh: In yet another incident of rape, a 22-year-old BA student allegedly raped at temple premises. This incident took place in Dhamtari District of Chhattisgarh State. Police detained the priest.
According to the report published in TOI, this heinous crime occurred when the victim was returning from her coaching classes.
As per the details furnished by the police, Priest of ‘Purane Kile Ka Ram Mandir’ called the victim when she was returning from coaching classes on 24th April. Then the accused who stays inside the temple premises asked her to come along with him. He took her to his room and pushed her. The victim, who is differently abled, fainted after falling on the floor.
When she woke up, there were no clothes on her body. The girl did not disclose the incident to anyone as the priest had allegedly threatened her.
However, next morning, the victim was taken to the hospital after she started suffering from abdominal pain. After a medical checkup, doctors at the hospital informed the victim’s family that the girl was raped.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s parents, police registered a case and detained the accused.
