Hyderabad, May 16: 22 consultants and firms have responded for preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed Krishna Drinking Water Supply project Phase- III to supply 90 MGD water to the city.
The additional 90 MGD water is expected to bring a permanent solution to the looming water crisis in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) invited Expressions of Interest (EoI) from consultants last month for preparing a DPR for the Rs 1,800 crore KDWSP to transmit 90 MGD water from the Krishna river, including water pumping stations at Sunkishala and Kodandapur and a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at Kodandapur.
Water Board officials told Express that about 30 firms took applications and of them 22 took Request for Proposal (RFP).
The last for submission of RFP is May 16. They added that a period of three months would be given to the selected consultant to prepare and submit the DPR.
Officials said the objective is to design the structure for intake-cum-raw water pumping stations at Sunkishala for drawing 16.5 TMC raw water for all three phases (each phase of 5.5 TMC) of KDWSP.
