Stating that a new sanitation policy will be introduced in the state Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today said 2,18 posts in Mdical and Halth wing will be filled soon. “The Government is able to contain the spread of diarrhea and other viral fevers following heavy rains lashed the city”, he said and promised to provide best services in the government-run hospitals in the State.
Inspecting Osmania General Hospital in the wake of rains in the city he interacted with some of the patients on health services being offered. A new building will be constructed at the premises of OGH for improving services. The health minister alerted the officials to be cautious at the possible spread of diarrhea and viral fevers at these localities logged with waters. The health officials are ready to meet any sort of problems due to heavy rains caused much inconvenience to the people in low-lying areas and abutting nalas.
People are need not panic as the health teams are pressed into service. So far 22000 people were offered treatment by 37 camps for three days with 100 doctors and 512 staff working in tandem besids 17 ambulances and72 staff he said. He expressed content for 20 per cent of increase in out patients in Osmania Hospital as they are getting improved services. Osmania doctors are successful in conducting liver, kidney, hair transplantation and plastic surgery he said. (NSS)
