HYDERABAD: A 21-yr-old recently graduated daughter of a nurse working for Indo American Cancer Hospital committed suicide on Friday at the hospital’s staff quarters in Banjara Hills.
Police have registered a case of suspicious death under section 174 of CrPC.
Sravani was the daughter of the hospital staff nurse Mamata, who was working with Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute. Though Police did not find any suicide note during the investigation, her mother Mamata told Police that her daughter was depressed after Sravani lost her dad a year ago.
Talking about the incident Ch Jitender Reddy Sub-Inspector told her mother found the door locked from inside on reaching the Quarters around 2.30 pm and “As Sravani did not respond to her mother for a long time, the latter grew suspicious and broke the door latch with the help of neighbours. Sravani was found hanging to the ceiling fan with a stole”.
He added “Sravani is extremely thin and Mamata told that her daughter was not well since a long time. Sravani also used to tell her mother that she wanted to commit suicide”.
Sravani’s body was later sent for postmortem, Times of India.
