2019 General Elections: Congress to go with small parties in UP?

New Delhi: Keeping in view the changed attitude of Samajwadi Party and BSP, Congress is now exploring new ways for 2019 elections. Though the Congress is still trying to enter into an alliance with BSP and SP in Uttar Pradesh so that a grand alliance could be formed but if the decision is not taken soon, Congress can enter into the fray along with the small parties. It has even begun talks with them.

According to reliable sources, Congress is talking to small parties like Pragatisheel Samajwadi party, Apna Dal, Dr Ayub’s Peace party and Bharatiya Samaj Party of Om Prakash Rajbhar. Pragatisheel Samajwadi party has been floated by former state minister Shivpal Singh Yadav after he was removed from Samajwadi Party, while Apna Dal was formed by union minister Anupriya Patel after ‘frictions’ with the BJP.

Since the report came in that of the total 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh BSP will get a share of 38, SP 37 seats, 3 will go to Rashtriya Lok Dal while Congress will get a share of just 2 seats, Congress is mulling over going solo.
