Chairman of 20-point Program Implementation Committee Dr N. Thulasi Reddy has said the State government was effectively implementing welfare schemes all over the State.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Thulasi Reddy said the housing program was not completed due to various reasons like lack of documentations and required contribution from the beneficiaries. He predicted that 2013 would be a golden year for the Congress as the party would succeed in fulfilling expectations of the people, including Telangana issue, hike in electricity charges and short supply of gas cylinders.
Thulasi Reddy also expressed concern over the widening male-female ratio. He said the officials concerned would take legal action against the scanning centers which were conducting pre-natal tests in violation of law and encouraging illegal abortions. He claimed the State government’s welfare schemes were better than those of Gujarat government. (NSS)
