SRINAGAR : Terrorism may have affected kashmir valley from early ninetees but kashmir is going through a tough time in present time.
Unemployment is one of the biggest threat which can lead valley to a darkest era.
Today for physical test a crowd of youth were seen at JAKLI headquarters at Rangreth area of Srinagar city .
According to Army sources, they have to fill 53 posts of soldiers in JAKLI for which physical test of the candidates was scheduled for today, but it surprised even the army officials.
Eyewitness said that more than 20 thousand youths from different areas of Kashmir thronged the venue, since early morning today. They said it was tough for Army to control the crowd, adding that Kashmir Police was called in to handle the situation.
However, defense spokesman in Srinagar, Lieutenant Col NN Joshi informed that the recruitment drive was for the Territorial Army and not for the JAKLI. “Territorial army is a joint effort of various security agencies”.
The Canditates came from far flung area like Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora and Kulgam districts apart from the nearby Srinagar and Budgam from which many candidates were even post graduates in different subjects. Jammu and Kashmir has emerged as having highest unemployment rate in Northern India in test survey released by Labour Bureau under Union Ministry of Labour and Employment.
According to the Fourth Annual Employment-Unemployment Survey 2014, JK has an overall unemployment rate of 105 (per 1000 persons aged 15 years and above). At all-India level, the unemployment rate is 49. JK has emerged as having eighth highest unemployment rate in India.
Shockingly, our state has the highest unemployment rate of 4.9 percent . As per the recent JK economic survey (2013-2014) report, the number of unemployed youth registered in various District Employment and Counseling Centres is 2.45 lakh, it may have also increased in between.
Experts believe that unemployment may increase more crimes in the valley.
These youths who came from diffrent areas in todays recruitement were having different backgrounds like science, commerce, Arts and even some were degree holders.
“This is the the gift of MR. OMER ABDULLA (Ex CM Kashmir) who increases two years for govt employees and we the youths of valley are enjoying the fruits” a graduate Ishfaq Ahmad from Budgam told valley online.
“Kashmir which is being called a conflict zone has witnessed harsh days but the most affected and suppressed group is youths, who are called nation builders” he added.
“An empty stomach makes you to do anything, they are educated , they have dreams for good future, how they must have studied and in which environment they have been living” a youth told, who was sitting on a bench and was watching everything there.
He said ” why I have came here ,I am an under-graduate but most youths are graduates and they have a good physic, Govt of India should help us and try to reduce it before it becomes an ocean.
Most of the youths who reached to the recruiting spot were graduates and they were well educated and talented.
As Government of India launched some schemes for the youths of valley to reduce the alarming growth of unemployment in state proved un helpful and fatal.
There is need of some miracle’s which could save the future of kashmir as unemployment is the main cause for the happenings in valley.
“Kashmir which was called the land of saints but nowadays everything has changed ” an social youth activist Mr. Karar Hashmi told Valley Online.
“In our society social evils are rising on an alarming rate and can prove dangerous for humanity” he added.
According to Psychiatrists most of youths in Kashmir are in depression due to many reasons and unemployment is one of the biggest cause.
After relationship difficulties, unemployment is the thing most likely to push a man into a serious depression. Research has shown that up to 1 in 7 men who become unemployed will develop a depressive illness in the next 6 months.
