Hyderabad: Mr. Shafiullah, Secretary of Minorities Residential Schools while talking to newsmen yesterday told that more than 2000 seats are vacant in these schools. He requested the parents of the students to get their children admitted in these schools before 31st of August. He informed that out of 600 seats in Hyderabad, 59 are vacant. He assured that better educational facilities will be provided by the Govt. Regular staff would be recruited after 3 months. He also told that Deeniyath would be taught for one hour as an informal education after the school hours. He told that Govt. is spending Rs. 80000 on each student. Mr. A.K. Khan is visiting America to seek the cooperation of foreign educational institutions. He admitted that in some schools “Vande Mataram” was being recited but after receiving complaints, guidelines have been issued to the schools and “Vande Mataram” has been stopped.

It may be mentioned that in District Schools, basic amenities have not been provided to the students. Due to substandard education and lack of facilities, parents are apprehensive of getting their children admitted in these schools. They complained that in many schools, furniture has not been provided and the students are forced to sleep on floor.
