Khammam, February 06: Over 200 inmates of the Social Welfare residential girls’ hostel at Nelakondapalli village fell ill after having lunch Friday.
As many as 50 of the seriously ill girls were shifted to the Khammam Government General Hospital .
According to sources, the hostel inmates had vomittings and stomach pain after lunch due to food-poisoning. Potato curry and ‘sambar’ were served to them along with rice. They were shifted to the Nelakondapalli Government Hospital. Later, 50 of them were shifted to the Khammam Government Hospital .
RDO Venkateswara Rao and District Medical and Health Officer V Vishnumohan sent medical teams to Nelakondapalli.
