Gurgaon: A 20-year-old law student was allegedly raped by her mother’s live-in partner, a distant relative of theirs, in the Laxman Vihar Phase-II area of Gurgaon, police said.
The complaint by the final-year law student was registered today at Sector-5 police station here following a direction from a local court which she had approached claiming that police repeatedly refused to register her complaint of multiple rape.
According to Hawa Singh, ACP (PRO), the girl told police that after her father’s death, she and her mother had shifted from Bhiwani to Laxman Vihar in Gurgaon.
Her uncle, Omprakash Kalkil, a distant relative and a resident of Charki Dadri who was earlier the Charki Dadri Civil court bar association president, often used to visit them, she said.
Her mother had later told her about her relationship with Omprakash and announced that he was going to be her live-in partner, the girl added.
She claimed that, thereafter, Omprakash started molesting her and, on December 15, 2015, she was raped by him at knife- point when her mother was away.
She alleged that when she spoke of her ordeal to her mother, instead of confronting Omprakash, she beat her and told her not to talk about it with anybody else.
“The victim also registered a complaint against her mother for assisting Omprakash in concealing his crime,” said Singh.
A case has been registered against Omprakash, who is on the run, under various sections of IPC, added Singh.
