20 pilgrims killed in mini-truck-bus collision in UP

At least 20 pilgrims were killed and 24 others were injured, some seriously, when a mini-truck collided head-on with an Uttarakhand Roadwaysbus under Aurangabad police station area here in Uttar Pradesh today. Superintendent of Police Gulab Singh said most of the victims were travelling on the mini-truck and were returning from Brajghat at Garhmukteshwar after attending the Ganga Dusherra festival. Several passengers of the bus were also killed and injured. The incident occurred at around 0600 hrs when both the vehicles collided at Lakhwati roundabout due to rash driving by the drivers of both the vehicles. The injured have been rushed to the nearby hospitals, where condition of several was stated to be critical.
