Govt. of Telangana is following the path of Govt. of Gujarat. There is a need to ensure the security of the Muslims in Telangana State. Fake encounter of Alair which occurred on 7th April is not the case of only five Muslim youths, it is creating a sense of insecurity among 20 crore Muslims of India. These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Abu Asim Azmi, SP MLA of Mumbai during a press conference held at Press Club in Hyderabad yesterday. He told that five innocent Muslim youths were killed by the police under the supervision of the government. He alleged that TRS is getting closer to BJP. It is therefore not possible to trust the Government officials for investigations. This case should be heard outside the state, preferably in Maharashtra. A special Public Prosecutor should be appointed for this purpose.
Former corporate of MBT, Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid, Mr. Abdul Qader Chowdry, Spokesman of SP in Maharashtra, Mr. Jagdish Yadav, President of SP in Telangana and A.P. and other leaders were present in the press conference.
Mr. Abu Asim Azmi told that Govt. and Police have been misleading the public by concealing the facts. In an angry mood, Mr. Azmi told that when the accused are killed by the police, where is need for courts. He demanded the Government of to suspend all the 17 police officials before judicial probe starts and also to give Rs. 15 lakh each to the descendents of the killed youths besides providing Government jobs to one member of the family of the deceased. He further told that he would write to the Chief Minister of Telangana State presenting these demands and would give him 10 days time. If these demands are not fulfilled a mass dharna would be organized in Hyderabad in which all the political parties would be invited. SP will also consider inviting its national level leaders for this protest program. He mentioned that after seeing the photographs, there is no need for any investigations. These youths were under the custody of judiciary and hence the Supreme Court of this country should take an action on its own immediately. He also alleged that the two SIMI activists were killed a few days back which was a fake encounter. After the programs of “Ghar Vapsi”, “Love Jihad” and “Hindu Rastra”, Government of Telangana is hatching a conspiracy to transform Telangana State into a laboratory like Gujarat.
Mr. Azmi further told that when he was outside Hyderabad, he had a feeling that Muslims are secure in Telangana State due to the strong Muslim leadership but after meeting the relatives of the deceased persons, he felt that the claims of the security of Muslims made outside the State are not real. He demanded MIM to break its ties with TRS and declare the support for the victims or form part of the agitation which he is going to launch after 10 days. Mr. Azmi condemned the visit of the Ministers, officials to Israel and said that they are going there to learn the methods of harassing the Muslims in the name of name of finding out the new methods of Agriculture.
He also told that the Muslim organizations of Telangana have rejected the appointment of Special Investigation Team announced by Govt. of Telangana. He said that justice is necessary for getting security in the secular structure of the country.
When asked about approaching the court, Mr. Azmi said that NGOs approach the court for seeking Justice whereas the political parties compel the government for providing justice by organizing agitations. He told that for organizing a mass protest program, he would invite all the justice loving political parties, organizations and members of Civil Society so that pressure could be exerted on the Govt. for seeking justice. He promised that he would make an attempt after consulting the national leadership of SP for raising this issue in the Parliament. He was surprised that the Ministers were not sent to the houses of the deceased persons to find out the facts. This is the first time that he is witnessing this situation.
Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid condemned the media reports which are declaring Viqar and others as terrorists. By publishing such reports, media is creating confusions on the people. He demanded the media persons to publish the reports only after finding the facts. He mentioned that this case was with the court wherein there were 35 witnesses out of which 30 had deviated from their statements. It was evident that all the five accused would be exonerated by the court.
Mr. Jagadish Yadav, State President of SP strongly condemned Alair encounter and said that all the justice loving parties and organizations should struggle against the Government for seeking justice rising above their political ideologies. He further told that if silence is maintained in such incidents, the atrocities of the police would increase.
