2 years of Narendra Modi government weigh more than 60 yrs of Congress rule: Keshav Prasad Maurya

Lucknow: Newly-appointed Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya today claimed that works undertaken during the two years of Modi government were more than those done in 60 years of Congress rule.

“The two years of Modi government weigh more than 60 years of successive governments headed by Congress in terms of works done…The poster campaign launched by Congress is indicative of its frustration,” he said referring to hoardings put up by Congress in Kanpur.

The hoardings carried the photo of Narendra Modi with messages targeting him for his pre-poll promises. It also targeted BJP national president Amit Shah for his alleged involvement in the Ishrat Jahan encounter case and Maurya for pending criminal cases against him.

Maurya, who has been accused by political opponents of having 11 criminal cases against him, said he would continue to fight against injustice and for the rights of common people for which he is ready to face “11,000 cases”.

Alleging that the “truth behind Congress’ move to defame nationalist forces has come out in the open”, he said former Union home minister P Chidambaram’s role in the Ishrat Jahan case is out in the open and this game of plotting and conspiracies has come to an end.

BJP workers will go to people and explain Centre’s policies and programmes farmers, poor, Dalit, backward, youth and women and people will themselves give a befitting reply to the designs of other parties and hand over reins of power in the state to BJP in the state elections next year, Maurya said.
