Opposition leader in Karnataka Legislative Council Motamma and ruling BJP member S R Leela were involved in a spat over the porn MMS issue which cost three ministers their posts.
Lakshman Savadi, C C Patil and Krishna Palemar had to quittheir Minister post after they were caught watching porn film in the Assembly when Session was on early this year.
During discussion on State Budget for 2012-13 Ms Motamma referred to the porn watching incident, and demanded a
comprehensive inquiry into the incident as the House Committee had been rejected by the Opposition and did not participate in the Committee inquiry.
Ruling party members Ms Leela and Manohar Maski, however, retorted that the Committee has already conducted the probe and asked where was the need for another inquiry.
This led to Congress leader Motamma and Ms Leela getting involved in a high pitched wordy duel that left the other members of the House ‘amused’.
When Ms Motamma said such episode had been witnessed both in Karnataka and Gujarat, ruled by the BJP, the ruling party members protested. Not ending at that she asked was this the way Karnataka BJP leaders want to make the State a ‘model state’ in line with Gujarat.
Intervening in the discussion, Minister for Excise Renukacharya accused that even Congress and Janata Dal(S) members had also watched the porn MMS in the House.
JD(S) leader M C Nanaiah challenged the government to punish the opposition members if it was proved that they watched porn films in the House.
