Mumbai, March 03: Two special teams, probing the Rs 80-lakh burglary at Bollywood actor Hema Malini’s bungalow here, have been dispatched to Uttar Pradesh and Indo-Nepal border to trace the suspects, police said today.
“One team has gone to Uttar Pradesh and the other to Nepal border based on the clues we have got (in the case). The suspects might have fled to these places,” Additional Police Commissioner Ramrao Pawar told PTI.
Pawar, however, declined to specify the exact location on the Indo-Nepal border where the police team has been sent.
On Saturday night, thieves broke into the actor’s bungalow ‘Gokuldham’ in suburban Goregaon and decamped with Rs 75 lakh in cash and ornaments worth Rs 5 lakh, police said.
The 61-year-old actor-turned-politician had gone to Nagpur and found cash and valuables stolen from her cupboard when she returned home, they said.
