Hyderabad, September 23: Two persons were murdered in separate incidents in the city since Tuesday night.
At Kalapather in the Old City, a 33-year-old property offender was allegedly murdered by his co-brother late on Tuesday night.
The victim, Mir Akbar Ali alias Akbar was a resident of Ali Bagh. He was a property offender.
He is survived by his wife M Begum and three children.
According to police, Akbar was having differences with his co-brother, Md Ashwaq since the past few years. Ashwaq was suspecting an attack by Akbar following differences between the duo. “For the past four days, Ashwaq was moving closely with Akbar. He reportedly called Akbar to the terrace of a photo studio on the pretext of consuming alcohol,” police said. Police suspect Akbar was attacked by Ashwaq and his associates after the victim consumed alcohol.
On Wednesday morning, locals found a person sleeping on the terrace covered with a blanket even in the heat. They removed the blanket and found Akbar lying in a pool of blood, police said. Police said his head been smashed with a blunt object leading to his death.
Police have registered a case under Section 302 (murder) and are investigating.
A 50-year-old woman was murdered by slitting her throat at Kacheguda on Wednesday. The deceased Balamani was a daily wager and is survived by two sons. The family are residents of Krishna Nagar in Kacheguda.
Police said Balamani’s sons slept at a Ganesh pandal installed by them in the locality.
On Wednesday morning, Balamani’s sons returned home and found their mother in a pool of blood. Police said Balamani’s neck was slit with a sharp weapon.
Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the killing. A case under Section 302 (murder) was registered and investigation is on.
