2 pedestrians among four killed in road accidents

A 28-year-old doctor died while his colleague sustained injuries when the car they were travelling on hit an unidentified vehicle from behind.

According to Shamirpet police, the deceased, Dr Nikhil Jogi, a native of Bodhan, was driving the car and apparently lost control and hit an unidentified vehicle from behind near Shamirpet crossroads on Thursday night. Jogi and the co-passenger, Padmaja, sustained grievous injuries. They were immediately rushed to the Gandhi Hospital where Jogi was declared brought dead. Padmaja is still undergoing treatment.

In another case, a 57-year-old man died on the spot when the scooter he was riding was hit by a RTC bus near Kachiguda crossroads on Friday morning. The deceased was later identified as C Venkatarama Sharma, a resident of Malkajgiri.

In a different case, S Narayana, 65, died of injuries which he sustained after he was hit and run by an unidentified vehicle near Gandhi Nagar bus stop on February 23. He was admitted to the Gandhi Hospital where he died on Thursday night. He was a rickshaw puller and resident of Kavadiguda in Secunderabad, according to Gandhi Nagar police.

In another case, a 48-year-old man, died on the spot after he was hit and run by unidentified vehicle while he was crossing the road near LB Nagar cross roads on Thursday evening. He was later identified as V Anjaiah, a resident of Sagar Ring Road, according to LB Nagar police. (INN)
