Hyderabad, September 21: The number of deaths caused by swine flu touched 22 today with the officials confirming two more deaths.
While a 27-year-old youth died at Gandhi Hospital this morning, doctors confirmed the death of a 57-year-old woman at a private hospital on September 18 was due to swine flu.
According to the officials, Shankar of Kurmanagar in Uppal developed swine flu symptoms and was admitted to the Gandhi Hospital on September 15. Initally, his health condition was stable but soon got deteriorated. The doctors kept him on ventilators after he developed respiratory complications two days ago. However, he died this morning after developing multiple organ failure.
Another patient is K Lakshmi (57) of Sangeetanagar in Kukatpally.
She was admitted to a private hospital on September 17 after she had been detected with swine flu symptoms. However, her condition got deteriorated and died the next day. As her lab reports were delayed, the doctors confirmed today that her death was due to swine flu.
