2-month pension disbursal by Dec. 15: KTR

Panchayat Raj and IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao today clarified that pensions and Food Security Cards will be distributed to all the eligible people in all the 10 Telangana districts. He directed the district Collectors to distribute two months’ pensions of October and November to the beneficiaries from December 10 to 15.
KTR held a review meeting along with Finance Minister Etela Rajender on Pensions and Food Security Cards at Secretariat here and sought details of the pensioners and beneficiaries. KTR directed the district Collectors to release lists of pensioners numbering 25,68,392 and extend the same to those who are yet to be found. Disbursement of pensions should be taken up gram panchaya wise in the given time frame, he said
Since the TRS government is committed to spend adequate funds for welfare programs, the district Collectors should initiate appropriate measures, he said. Allaying fears of denial of pensions followed by reports of deaths at some rural pockets, KTR said the government did not put any ceiling for pensions and food security cards. Keeping the situation in view, the respective district administrations should ensure that all the eligible get pensions without further delay, he maintained. “Let there not be room for confusion and doubts among the people seeking pensions, KTR said. He also announced that the government was ready to spend the required money for the purpose. (NSS)
