Pune, Dec 18: The Pune rural police said the trio have been identified as Shrikant Tulshiram Shelar, an autorickshaw driver and his two accomplices Digambar Ranganath Machale and Ganesh Duttatraya Raskar, all residents of Misalwadi in Loni Kalbhor.
The two girls were picked up while on their way to school on Tuesday and were let off after the being raped and were again abducted on Wednesday and raped, police said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shrikrishna Kokate, who is investigating the case, said, “The suspects first abducted the girls in an autorickshaw on Tuesday and gang raped the girls in a nearby sugarcane field and left them there. After returning home, the girls kept quiet as the suspects had threatened them.”
“On Wednesday, when the girls were on their way to school, the suspects again abducted them and took them to an isolated mountain region near Ramdara Temple and raped them, before abandoning them.
It took a few hours for the girls to return home which raised the suspicion of their parents. The girls then opened up with their parents about their ordeal over the two days. Following this, the parents lodged the complaint at Loni Kalbhor police station,” he said.
Police have booked the suspects under Section 376 G (gang rape) of Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of Prevention of Atrocities Act.
