State government is all set to discharge 2 lakh contract workers from their services. The workers were employed under outsourcing system. Government workers’ organisations have opposed outsourcing system.
On one side chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is talking about providing employment to 15 lakh workers till 2014, on the other hand government is dismissing 2 lakh 70 thousand outsourcing workers.
As per the government data there are 1020213 workers in government departments out of which 73 percent are regular while 27 percent are working on contract basis.
