2 killed in collision with MLA’s vehicle

Sangareddy, February 06: Two persons were killed and two others were injured when Narayankhed MLA P Kishta Reddy’s vehicle collided with an autorikshaw near Jogipet in Medak district this evening, police said.

The mishap occurred when driver of the speeding autorikshaw lost control and rammed his vehicle into the MLA’s Tata Safari which was coming from the opposite direction near Chautkur village, Jogipet police said.

Reddy, Congress MLA from Narayankhed Assembly constituency, was going to Hyderabad. He was not hurt in the incident, police said.

The MLA himself was not driving the Safari, they added.

Two persons, travelling in the rickshaw, died on the spot. They have been identified as Gangaram (21) and Suresh (23).

Rickshaw driver Ramesh and one Anil Kumar, a passenger, were injured, and taken to a hospital at Jogipet, police said.

Kumar, seriously injured, was later shifted to Gandhi Government Hospital at Hyderabad.

Reddy informed the police about the mishap and called for ambulance, police said. The MLA later left the spot, leaving his vehicle behind.
