Jamui:Two persons were killed while seven others, including four policemen, were injured when an SUV rammed into a stationary police van in Bihar’s Jamui district today.
Sikandra police station SHO Vivek Bharti said that the accident took place when the policemen were checking documents of two-wheelers on Jamui-Nawada main road near Purani chowk under Sikandra police station of the district.
The SUV, apparently trying to evade the policemen, lost control and rammed into the police jeep, thus injuring five persons, Bharti said.
The four-wheeler then hit a motorcyclist and a boy standing on the road, killing the duo – identified as Manoj Kumar Singh and Sonu Kumar, the SHO said.
The five injured were Sub-inspector Subodh Kumar, ASI Mithilesh Kumar Singh, Bihar Military Police jawan Kamod Rai and Kamal Thapa and a villager.
The car finally hit a tree thus injuring its driver and a passenger as well, he said adding that all the seven injured have been admitted to Jamui Sadar hospital.
