Two young boys drowned in Husain Sagar Lake yesterday. According to sources 11-year-Mohammed Saleem and Khaja went to picnic along with their friends and stepped into the water near Jalvihar. But since they didn’t know swimming they drowned in the lake.
4 year old Sadiq and other friends who were on the spot informed locals about the incident. On receipt of information Ramgopalpet police station inspector Mr. Ganga Reddy reached the spot with team of divers who tried to rescue the boys. But Khaja and Saleem died by the time help reached them. Divers retrieved their bodies.
Saleem and Khaja’s parents expressed anger over delay in rescuing the boys. Bodies were shifted to government hospital for post-mortem.
