Hyderabad, November 22: Two children allegedly died at the emergency ward of the Niloufer Hospital on Sunday, when medical services were affected badly due to power interruption.
The deceased are 5 year-old Bhavani, a resident of Mallepally and a one-year old baby boy, from Nalgonda district.
According to sources, Bhavani was admitted due to a viral disease a few days back and undergoing treatment at the emergency ward.
As medical services were hit by the power cuts since 6 am on Sunday, she is alleged to have died.
The baby boy also is alleged to have died due to suspension of medical services.
Dr Lakshminarayana, resident medical officer, Niloufer Hospital, however, denied allegations.
“We started repair works at the old building on Sunday morning while setting up two generators supplying power to the emergency and other critical wards. We restored power supply after finishing works by 5 pm,” he said.
