Two Indians were among three persons injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire at a security patrol in Saudi Arabia’s troubled eastern Qatif region, an official said today.
An Interior Ministry spokesman said a traffic patrol at Alkhwaildieh district in Shia-dominated Qatif came under heavy fire from a farming area, wounding a policeman and two Indian passers-by last evening.
The injured were rushed to the hospital and their condition was stated to be stable, state-run Saudi Press Agency quoted the official as saying.
A car was also hit without injuring its driver, he added.
Security authorities immediately rushed to the spot and started search for the gunmen.
The ministry warned people against providing any kind of help to the attackers or to any person of the wanted.
