Hyderabad, March 07: Two days after extending power cuts for residents living on the city outskirts, the Central Power Distribution Company Limited (CPDCL), in another blow, made the two-hour power shutdown norm applicable to the core city as well from Saturday.
The power cuts in the core areas of the city will be imposed in two spells — an hour in the morning hours and the other spell in the afternoon. Officials however, maintained that the power cuts will be between 9 am and 6 pm only.
Meanwhile, residents of the Twin Cities were caught unawares on Saturday as the power utilities started implementing the two-hour power shutdown without any prior intimation.
Besides, commercial establishments including malls which come under 33 KV feeder and above category will be imposed power cuts during evening peak hours from 6 pm to 10 pm, the officials said.
