Vijay Mallya who is wanted by Indian authorities in over Rs 9,000-crore Kingfisher Airlines loan default case is currently living in London. Now his assets are being auctioned for recovering the debts.
Two helicopters of no longer existing airlines, Kingfisher, were auctioned for over Rs 8.5 crore which was held in Bengaluru, according to an official.
The lenders put the Airbus helicopter on the block in the process of recovering the dues from the liquor tycoon Vijay Mallya who is currently in London.
As per the sale proclamation document issued by the Debts Recovery Tribunal, the total reserve price for the two choppers was Rs 3.5 crore. The winning bidder in the auction is a representative of New Delhi-based Choudhary Aviation Facilities who would pay Rs 8.57 crore for the two helicopters.
