2 held for using fake passports to fly abroad

Chennai, October 05: The airport police have arrested two youths from West Bengal when they attempted to fly to Kuala Lumpur using fake passports and posing as Nepalese. Airport police said Mohammed Saiful Islam (20) and Mohammed Rabiyat Islam (25) were about to board a Kuala Lumpur-bound Jet Airways flight at midnight last night, when they were detained by the immigration officials. Investigations revealed that they had obtained fake passports from an agent in Delhi who had changed their nationality and names as Sada Narayanan and Ram Seshan. After depicting them as Nepalese, the agent had arranged fake passports after getting Rs 1 lakh each from them, police said. As it would be risky to fly to Kuala Lumpur from Delhi Airport, the agent suggested that they take flight from Chennai. They arrived here last night by a Jet Airways flight from Delhi and were about to take the midnight flight to Kuala Lumpur, when they were caught. They were handed over to the city crime branch police for further investigation, police added.
