Two persons allegedly involved in an attempt to murder and theft case in Perundurai near here were today detained under the Goondas Act, police said.
Satheeshkumar along with his friend had come to the house of his cousin when she was alone and stabbed her, removed six sovereigns of gold jewels from her and escaped last week.
The woman, who sustained serious bleeding injury, wrote the name of the assailants in blood on the wall. She has been hospitalised.
On a complaint, police arrested her cousin and his friend, who have been remanded to judicial custody and lodged in Coimbatore prison.
Meanwhile, District Collector Dr V. K. Shanmugam issued an order detaining the two under the Goondas Act.
