New Delhi:Two men have been arrested for allegedly robbing an Uber cab driver of his mobile phone, Rs 3,000 in cash and slitting the driver’s face with a blade, police said today.
The accused, Rohit Kumar and Sunny Balhara, both aged 21, were arrested today within 12 hours after the incident, police said.
“Yesterday, Kundan Kumar, an Uber driver and a resident of Mayapuri, told police that he picked up two passengers from CR Park Outer Ring road for Vasant Kunj. On reaching Vasant Kunj the passengers told him to drop them at Kishangarh road,” a senior police officer said.
When he asked for the cab fare, they overpowered him and slit his face with a blade and looted his purse containing Rs 3000 and mobile phone and ran away, he said.
During investigation raids were conducted and the accused were arrested and the looted mobile and cash recovered.
