2 held for murder

The city police today claimed to have solved the murder of a youth by arresting two persons in connection with it.

The primary investigation revealed financial transaction as the reason behind the murder, police said. The Cantonment police had recovered the body of Vilas Jadhav (35)with stab wounds from the Bhangsi Godess temple, about 12 km from city on February 29. However, police were initially clueless to reach the accused. After investigations, police inspector Dyanoba Munde held deceased’s two colleagues Anil Maind and Milind Wagh on suspicion. The duo first denied the crime but later confessed it.

The duo and the deceased had some dispute over loan of Rs 5,000.On February 29, the trio gathered near temple and consumed liquor.After heated arguments, Maind and Wagh stabbed Jadhav to death by a sharp weapon, Inspector Munde said. Both were remanded to four day police custody, he added. UNI
