Hyderabad, June 08: Task Force police on Sunday arrested two persons for cheating gullible unemployed youth by promising them to send abroad.
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) (Task Force) V B Kamalasan Reddy said Ghouse Pasha and Sheik Azeem have been running Global Consulting in Malakpet. They promised many unemployed youth, mostly uneducated, to send them to Gulf countries on labour visa. “They take their passports assuring them to complete visa processing work. But, they cheat them by issuing a fake document as visa. Several unemployed youth have returned from Mumbai after learning about the fake documents,” Task Force inspector T Ravi Kumar said.
The duo had been cheating people for the past two years. Police said they received 114 complaints till date. The two had been collecting money between Rs 10,000 and Rs 40,000 from each youth. “To run visa processing business, a consulting firm has to take permission from the Union external affairs ministry and the concerned country’s embassy with which they deal. But, Global Consulting has no such permissions,” said Ravi Kumar.
According to police, two more key persons involved in the fraud are absconding. Police registered cases under section 420 (Cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Passport Act and Immigration Act.
