2 constables suspended over missing ammunition in AP

Hyderabad, March 08: One hundred bullets and three magazines have been missing from the Mobile Reserve (MR) Office of Rajahmundry and two constable were suspended in this connection in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh, police said today.

Rampachodavaram assistant superintendent of police and Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Duggal said that the two constables–Srinivas attached to Addategala and Satyaprasad attached to Mandapeta—were suspended for not handing over the 100 bullets and three magazines to the MR office after completing their duty.

Both were posted at Addategala tribal agency area in Rampachodavarm. The police noticed that the bullets and magazines missing since yesterday, Duggal said.

“The police will be provided all necessary equipment—bullets, magazines– in the agency area, at the time of joining of duty and it is the duty of police persons to hand over the equipment to the authorised person in the MR office,” Duggal said. The two constables did not hand over the bullets and magazines to the MR office.

A case has been registered in Rajahmundry One Town police station against the constables. The investigation is on.
