2 burnt alive on suspicion of practicing Bhanamati, probe ordered

Hyderabad, September 12: Chief Minister has strongly reacted on the incident of burning alive of 2 tribals on the suspicion of practicing Bhanamati at Vesapuram village in Bhadrachalam mandal of Khammam district and has directed collector Khammam to probe into the matter and submit a report of the case.

On the direction of chief minister Bhadrachlam sub collector left for the place of incident and action will be taken against the guilty after receiving the report.

It must be noted that the locals had burnt two tribals alive in suspicion of practicing bhanamati.

It is said that S Mangayya (50) and V Dharmaiah (50) are believed to be responsible for the death of several people through black magic. Two persons died in the village on August 31 and the relatives suspected that their death occurred due to bhanamati. Hence elders of the village decided to punish Mangayyah and Dharmaiah. They tied both of them with a tree and people stoned them and burnt them alive.
